This huge thunderstorm was shot out of the window of a plane at 35000 feet somewhere over the desert southwest as the sun set in the west. Awesome and beautiful as long as you don't have to fly through it.
Fairie Garden. It is so easy to miss the little things when on a walk. I was shooting something else and just stopped to enjoy the cold autumn day, when I spotted this little grouping of mushrooms in the knot of an old fallen tree. I would have walked right by if I hadn't slowed down and just taken everything in.
"Enter this wild wood and view the haunts of nature" is the inscription above the entrance to the Seven Bridges Trail in Grant Park, South Milwaukee. As one leaves, the inscription reads "May the God given peace of this leafy solitude rest upon and abide with thee."
The sun sets behind an Oak tree along a spring-fed tributary of the Scuppernong River in southeast Wisconsin, near Eagle. Paradise Springs is just a short walk from this spot. This is in the Southern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest.
