The Steel Tower
The Steel Tower

This steel clad octagonal tower is the historic North Point Lighthouse.  It sits on the bluffs overlooking the waters of Lake Michigan in Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s Lake Park.   It stands at 74 feet and when it was in use the 25,000 candlepower lamp and Fresnel lens focused a 1,300,000 candlepower signal visible for up to 25 miles.

The lighthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.  It was also added to the Library of Congress Historic American Buildings Survey.

The light and the keepers quarters were taken out of service by the U.S. Coast Guard in 1994.  It now houses the North Point Lighthouse Museum.

Emotion. Mood. Feelings. This is what I capture through my photographs. Whether it is landscapes, architectural elements, still life, or macros - it is a very personal journey as my own fears, triumphs, beliefs, and shortcomings are exposed with each photo. In the end, it is all about telling compelling stories.
