A Place to Sit 3

A Place to Sit 3

“Inspiration is highly overrated. If you sit around and wait for the clouds to part, it’s not liable to ever happen. More often than not, work is salvation.” –Chuck Close

A Place to Sit 2

A Place to Sit 1

“The human body has two ends on it: one to create with and one to sit on. Sometimes people get their ends reversed. When this happens they need a kick in the seat of the pants.” –Theodore Roosevelt

Frost

"It is the life of the crystal, the architect of the flake, the fire of the frost, the soul of the sunbeam. This crisp winter air is full of it." --John Burroughs Frosty ice crystals form on my office window on a very cold January winter morning in Milwaukee. They are beautiful for sure, but it has to be quite frigid for these to grow. Plus, your windows need to be a bit drafty. Oh well, the things we sacrifice for our art. Peeling Back the Layers

Peeling Back the Layers

“I wondered to what extent people remained the same as they’d been when very young; if one peeled back the layers of living one would come to know the child.” –Dick Francis

The Glass Tower on Downer Avenue

The Glass Tower on Downer Avenue

This concrete and glass “tower” sits on the corner of Downer Avenue and Bellview Place on the East Side of Milwaukee.  I’ve tried shooting this many times and have never really captured the shot I wanted.

Twelve Squares

Twelve Squares

Twelve squares in three rows of four across – close up detail of a worn and rusty metal drain cover in Riverside Park, on the East Side of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  I was out playing with my son in the park when I spotted these cool geometric shapes on this steel sewer grate.
