What the…?!

“Expect nothing. Live frugally on surprise.” –Alice Walker A “surprising” self-portrait.  Perhaps apropos the goings on in the world these days. Looking for art for your home or office or something to spice up your digital desktop?  Check out the rest of my portfolio here.  And don’t forget to subscribe to the blog so you don’t…… Continue reading What the…?!

Wonderful Magic

Wonderful Magic

You get some wonderful magical surprises when you experiment.  For this sweet shot of my son, I used a Diana+ 110mm soft focus telephoto Lomography lens.  The cheap plastic lens produces a very cool retro soft glow to everything.  If you are looking for tack sharp images, this lens is NOT for you.  However, it…… Continue reading Wonderful Magic

Look Into My Eyes

Look Into My Eyes

“Don’t believe what your eyes are telling you. All they show is limitation. Look with your understanding, find out what you already know, and you’ll see the way to fly.” –Richard Bach Day 357 of my 365 photo a day project. Processed in Photoshop and Lightroom with liberal use of Topaz Glow and Topaz Impression.…… Continue reading Look Into My Eyes

Monkey See Monkey Do

Cell Phone Crazy

Cell Phone Crazy

Everybody’s gone cell phone crazy!  Whether  trying to catch imaginary creatures while ambulatory or blasting mad feathered fowl toward sinister swine, everyone has their head buried in their phone.  While I’ll admit I have not been enticed to go outside looking for cartoon characters, I do play a fair amount of games.  And I do spend quite a bit…… Continue reading Cell Phone Crazy

Today I Am Tired

Today, I am tired. I'm exhausted from lack of sleep and too much coffee. I'm mentally drained from trying to do everything on my "to-do" list all at the same time. I'm emotionally fatigued from just about everything I see on the news. Today I feel my age and that makes me weary. But tomorrow the sun will rise. I'll have a cup of coffee while listening to the birds singing outside and my wife and son laughing inside. It will be a brand new day. And I will not be tired. Day 285 of my 365 photo a day project. Veil of Memory

Veil of Memory

As I inch ever closer to a half century on this Earth, I’m reminded more and more how fragile memory can be. Whether it is forgetting where I put my keys or trying to think of what’s-his-name that sat next to me in home room back in grade school, the older I get the more…… Continue reading Veil of Memory

National Selfie Day

National Selfie Day

My intention with this shot was to do…… Continue reading National Selfie Day

The Lonely Robot Photographer

The Lonely Robot Photographer

The lonely robot photographer sits under a street light waiting for the sun to rise over the horizon.  This is another in a series of fun shots of the little robot that travels with me on my photographic journeys.  You could call him my mascot or perhaps my good luck charm.  The little guy is also…… Continue reading The Lonely Robot Photographer

Inner Dialogue

Inner Dialogue

“When there is complete peace of mind when the outer world is chaotic,  you will truly be free.” –Matthew Donnelly, “Spirit of Motivation” As humans, we always have that inner dialogue going on in our heads.  Constant internal bickering and fighting like two children on the playground can really wear you out.  I can do it.…… Continue reading Inner Dialogue

What Are You Looking At?

What Are You Looking At?

What are you looking at?  This is just me playing around with some surrealist ideas. What would it look like if you took your glasses off and held them out in front of you and saw your own eyes staring back?  Not bad for a first attempt at it, but the execution needs some work.  I need to…… Continue reading What Are You Looking At?

Framed II – Helping Hand

A few helping hands holding up a wooden frame with a dusty piece of glass inside and me standing behind. Day 145 of 365 Copyright 2016 Scott Norris Photography www.scottnorrisphotography.com
